What have you been the most naive about?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 08, 2008:
Naivete suggests a childlike attitude of simplicity and trust, and so I believe it is something to be cultivated, even as we gain wisdom.
We may not be able to un-know what we know, but what do we really know? We see things, hear things and experience things, and then we create stories around them.
Much of what we consider knowledge is simply judgment. A child doesn't care about stories, unless we ask them to explain something. They are in the moment, and when the moment passes, they let it go.
We say, "Oh, to be young again, and know what I know now." How about growing older and yet retaining our childlike spirit?
It could work. It could be wonderful.

sounds good to me
